Morzine - Avoriaz and the Portes Du Soleil

Is a ski area covering 650km of piste and limitless off piste which starts at 1000m and rises to 2466m in two countries, France and Switzerland. One ski pass covers 12 resorts, 237 pistes and 212 ski lifts.

Whether a complete beginner on the Pleney nursery slopes, an intrepid intermediate exploring the well marked “discovery trails:” that cover the area or an advanced skier pitting your wits on the infamous “Swiss wall”, no one need ski the same run twice. 

As well as superb skiing, the Portes du Soleil has some 89km of ski du fond tracks that take you to new areas away from the pistes, or you can hire snowmobiles for a sunset ride or why not get a birds eye view from a tandem paraglide flight.

If you are not too tired after your day on the mountainside on Thursday evenings you can try some nocturnal skiing on the floodlit Pleney slopes just a short stroll from the chalet. You could also ride around town in a horse drawn carriage or explore the mountain on snowshoes.


Morzine is not just about skiing. You can skate at the 2 ice rinks - one indoor and one outdoor, take in an exciting evening game of ice hockey. You can pamper yourself with a facials, massages and treatments from the two day spa’s in town or we can organise for a qualified masseur to come to the chalet.

There is a market in the center of town every Wednesday morning and lots of shops ranging from hi-tech sports shops to exclusive boutiques and even a local potter to watch and buy some of his colourful traditional pieces. Take time to stroll through the old part of town or along the river Dranse.

Sit at an outside café table in the morning sun enjoying a hot chocolate or a beer. Morzine has two cinemas that regularly show English language films. Those that like a lively après ski scene will find lots of bars to suit all tastes and even two nightclubs for those night owls.
